Managed staff and performed lithological and geotechnical logging. Operated oriented core drillhole tool, located and flagged new drill sites, maintained 3D project maps in Surpac and built and maintained drilling/hole progress website.
February 2008Crew Geologist -
Planned, designed and executed self-directed research into the feasibility of soil gas as a resource indicator in a Mars analogue setting. Conducted introductory-level geology instruction to engineers and biologists on the crew during our two week mission. Involved in public outreach before and after, including interviews with CBC, SFU and newspapers. Research abstract available here.
Summer 2007Junior Geologist -
Performed lithological and geotechnical logging at the Schaft Creek porphyry copper deposit in northern BC. Helped supervise drilling operations for proper on-site core handling. Operated oriented core drillhole tool, located and flagged new drill sites, maintained project maps and built new database-driven 3D maps in AutoCAD.
